Organization of Young Filipino Americans

As middle school me would say.. FILIPINO PRIDE. I wanted to showcase all the little intricacies of filipino culture, from chinelas to mano po. And I saw culture as a way to promote all of that. I also saw the bonds Culturefest and Barrio have made between the members of OYFA and wanted to help making everyone's experience the best it can be!

I want to be able to freeze time.. you know those occasional moments where everything's perfect and you're completely content. Laughing with your best friends in your basement or driving with the windows down with the perfect song blasting. I want to be able to live in those moments a little longer and savor it a little more.

Bohemian Rhapsody, because who doesn't like screaming at the top of their lungs with your best friends going 70mph on the interstate

I would wake up early one morning and get in my car and just pointlessly drive in one direction. Hopefully, I would fine somewhere with a great view and chill for a little. Then I would google a great taco place nearby and eat some carne asada tacos. Then maybe catch the sunset on the drive back home and do some stargazing.

Cannolis.. I'm probably gonna be really sad being stuck on an island, and cannolis usually make me really happy so why not

I first got really involved with OYFA through Culturefest in my first year. In the past two years I truly enjoyed learning about and appreciating Filipino culture as a part of being in organization. Because I had such fun bonding experiences through dance practices, I wanted to make sure future babies and OYFA in general are make the same great memories.
